Rear end teardown

Posted: September 28, 2013 in 1975 Yamaha RD350

Got a donor FZ600 for its rear end and took apart the RDs rear end in preparation.  Just need to get the swingarm modded to fit in the frame, then get a wheel and start working with all that!

Grabbed a set of Bassani expansion chambers, a kickstart (aluminum), and some cylinders (not pictured) from one of the RD guru’s I know!  Also got a ton of reference pics and ideas for the rear suspension setup for my RD off of a monoshock that he had built!

Upper and lower bearing for the fork conversion have arrived!

After much research and talks with some experts on the RD, I have found some good tips on suspension upgrades (that will look nice too!).  So far I have picked up an entire new front end for a great deal!  Its off of a 1992 Suzuki GSXR600, and has been rebuilt already and needs nothing.  I ordered matching bearings and in a few months once I get a swingarm and some shocks this will all get thrown on and adjusted!
