Back together (Mostly)

Most of the Suzuki is all set, and the sidecar is mounted again.  The sidecar had a full rewiring, the the bike was gone through entirely  repainted, and we made our own exhaust for it.
Bike runs great, and with the added weights on the sidecar frame it handle super well.  Bunch of pics below!

Exhaust complete

Got the exhausted welded, ground down, and painted then put it on the bike.  It came out looking really nice!  We put a heat shield under the passenger tank and the shift lever as well.  Painted those gloss black to match the case side covers and it contrasts nicely with the flat black color of the pipes.
When painting the mufflers themselves, a chrome ring was accidentally left on each tip.  This was an accident that worked out, since it looks pretty cool!

Left side Exhaust

We made the decision to throw both cans to the left side of this bike, since the sidecar is mounted.  This way, the fumes won’t go into the sidecar and bug the passenger.  The stock headers were used and re-positioned  and some extensions were fabbed up (as well as mounts) to get everything in place.  Sonny did nearly all of this on his own, and it came out look great!  It isn’t quite buttoned up, but this is how it will look:

GS550L first ride

Now that the bike runs, we took it out for a first test ride.  The motor ran strong!  Just some final tweaking left.

SHE LIVES!

What a bad case of previous owner syndrome!  There were some springs that were in the wrong position on all four carbs, which caused the needle to now open enough to allow the necessary fuel in.  Made the required adjustments and the bike revs like a charm!
